somewhere in time

ugh winter

the winter is affecting me a lot!

the darkness, the cold biting my skin

what would I do to lay in the sunshine?

It's just five more months but it feels like forever, a little

but enough complaining....

moon 3 days in a row, the one last night was amazing. like a huge glowing crescent, unfortunately didn't have a camera with me.

it was foggy today, and the sun was blanketed in fog and looked like an orange moon. it was quite pretty. I didn't take a photo unfortunately.

Today I drove around with Alec and we got Thai food. I also got a matcha latte and some banana bread.

one day before work

another day, waiting in the parking lot before i went into work

i really want to take more photos like i used to but like i was saying it's harder in the winter...

the summer is much better because most of the time it's light outside all night and all day

i should start date stamping my photos again

my sony zv-1 is alright but never in a million years would i buy that model of camera again and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. i don't know how other people feel about that camera. maybe it's user error on my part.

for more detailed photos i use my kodak pixpro az528 but i haven't used it in a while because i haven't gone outside much this winter, i usually use it in summertime to take photos of wildlife. for a cheap camera, it has an amazing zoom. i used to have a canon powershot s740 hs. nice zoom (40x) which is important to me because i like taking photos of birds when i can, which it definitely could. (night shots not great but decent) and i miss that one a lot. i might buy it again, probably off ebay. the sony zv-1 doesn't have a flash built in and even though it is a popular camera for vloggers (so i read), mine overheats very quickly and the battery isn't very long lasting. the biggest con of this camera is that it turns on from the slightest pressure against the button. the top of the camera cannot be touching anything or else it turns itself on.

the battery on my kodak lasted so long that i actually lost the charger because I hadn't needed it in so long and had to buy a new one a few weeks ago, but my sony dies within a few hours.

but, as you can see, the photo quality is pretty nice. videos are too, of course. not worth all the cons of the camera though for the price. might go on the hunt this summer for a point and shoot that better fits my needs, but it's not easy to find one. also, a view finder would be amazing.

just because a camera may be more expensive doesn't mean it's going to fit your needs. sometimes a cheaper camera can get the job done better and be more reliable. at least that's how it is in my experience, as a person who takes photos just for the pleasure of it and not necessarily for the artistry or intricacies of the manual options cameras provide.

i also have a campsnap which is a fun camera. still digital but looks and acts like a film camera, but you can upload the photos straight to your computer.

i have an instax mini evo and an instax wide 400 too. i used to have some 20+ year old digicams but one drop (it was an accident!) and they go kaput, because they're quite old so still fragile compared to some other things.

i have an ipod mini from the early 2000s. it's refurbished with a bigger storage and a new battery but i'm surprised it's still such a trooper. i've dropped it a couple of times but i have a little holster on the back to clip it to things and i think that has been protecting the hardware on the inside a little better than if it was without.

i kind of want to start vlogging my days which the sony would be good for but i dunno how to really do it... i just feel like nothing is that interesting... but it would be fun, just for a hobby. to see the seasons of my life change and everything. 26 has come fast and i know it'll just keep feelin quicker
